[00:00.54] Chapter two. [00:02.29] Mr. Baker arrives. [00:05.96] The advert was placed in several evening papers. [00:09.82] Peterson also purchased a goose, similar to the one he and his family had eaten. [00:16.03] Just before 6:30 the next day, I went to join Holmes and we waited to see if the owner of the goose would turn up. [00:27.18] At 6:35, there was a knock at the door. [00:31.37] A tall man stood there, dressed in a black frock coat, which had seen better days. [00:39.17] "Mr. Henry Baker, I believe?" said Holmes. [00:43.63] "I think this might be yours." He pointed to the hat. [00:49.95] "Yes, sir, that is my hat without a doubt." [00:54.81] "Good, the goose, I'm afraid we had to eat," said Holmes, smiling. [01:02.28] "You've eaten it!" exclaimed the man. [01:08.84] "It would have gone bad," said Holmes. [01:13.34] "But this other one," he pointed to the table, "is the same size and is much fresher. [01:20.92] Will that not suit you?" [01:23.90] "Oh, yes," said Mr. Baker with relief. [01:28.78] "It will suit us very well. [01:32.62] We still have the feathers, the legs, the crop and so on of your own bird if you wish to have them." [01:41.89] The man laughed. [01:44.67] "I have no use for such things," he said. [01:49.85] "Very well," said Holmes. [01:53.71] "But could you tell me where you got the bird? [01:57.80] It was a fine one." [02:00.89] "Of course, at the Alpha Inn near the museum. [02:06.24] We pay a few pence each week through the year for our Christmas goose. [02:11.89] The landlord buys the birds at a good rate and we take them home on Christmas Eve." [02:21.07] With a few more polite words, the man bowed to us both, thanked us again and left with his hat on his head and the goose under his arm. [02:32.11] "So much for Mr. Henry Baker," said Holmes. [02:37.37] "But I think we might visit the landlord of the Alpha Inn. [02:43.63] Would you like a glass of beer, Watson?"
